Dr. Colby Carter

Dr. Carter graduated from Illinois College of Optometry in 2003. After completing a residency in ocular disease/primary care at the Albuquerque VA hospital, Dr. Carter returned to Chicago to practice in 2004. He began working at American Vision in 2006, so he has a long history working in the neighborhood and the surrounding area.

Dr. Carter specializes in primary care optometry as well as contact lens services, but he is residency trained and able to handle most emergencies as well as ocular disease, infections, and red eyes. We look forward to taking care of all your ocular needs, make and appointment and come in to see Dr. Carter and the staff at American Vision Center.

Meet Our Team

Lesley Hernandez has been an optician since 2019. She is born and raised in the Chicago area. If you have any question about lenses and lens options, Lesley will know the answer, her knowledge is exceptional. Lesley is fluent in Spanish and an excellent “people person”. We look forward to seeing you in the office. 

Jasmin Lopez has been an optician since 2012.  She is a Chicago native, speaks Spanish, and is amazing at helping you pick your next pair of glasses! Jasmin is especially good with children, but every customer loves her bubbly personality and exceptional customer service. We are so lucky to have Jasmin here at American Vision.
